Privacy Policy

prismContact is built by LaClair Technologies. Contacts and relationship data are deeply personal, and we design the app with that in mind.

What we collect

Nothing. prismContact contains no analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash reporters, or third-party tracking.

Where your contacts live

  • On your device — your canonical contact records and interaction history are stored locally, encrypted at rest by iOS/macOS.
  • In your iCloud — if iCloud sync is enabled, Apple replicates your data across your own devices using your own iCloud account. LaClair Technologies never sees or stores this data.
  • In source accounts (Apple/Google/Microsoft/CardDAV) — when you import from or sync to third-party accounts you have authorized, that data moves between those services and your device directly. We are not in the middle.

No enrichment

prismContact will never call a third-party enrichment API to add employer, social handle, photo, or other details to your contacts without an explicit, reviewable action initiated by you.

Suite integration

If you also use other Prism apps (prismNotebook, prismTask, prismCal), prismContact shares lightweight references — e.g. “this task is about person X” — through an on-device app group and your own iCloud container. Contact bodies stay with prismContact.

What we do not do

  • No analytics. No “anonymous” usage reporting.
  • No advertising. No data sales. No data brokers.
  • No background upload of your contact list to any LaClair Technologies server.

Migration provenance

When you migrate contacts between accounts, prismContact records provenance (source, date, field-by-field mapping) locally so you can audit what moved. Provenance stays on your device.

Children's privacy

prismContact is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the “Last updated” date and post a note on the product website before the change takes effect.
